A note from Pastor Travis 3/7/24

This Sunday is the 4th Sunday of Lent. We are halfway through our Lenten journey. This Sunday is known as Laetare Sunday. It is a day of joy because now that we are halfway through Lent, we can begin to see Easter on the horizon. It gives us hope. Soon we will be celebrating Easter! As Psalm 107 says (which is our Psalter for this Sunday) “For the Lord satisfies those who are thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”

This Sunday also marks another important event, one that may seem more crucial in the moment – Daylight Savings begins. Yes, this Sunday we “fall back,” and in the process lose an hour of precious sleep. Be sure to adjust your clock on Saturday night and go to bed an hour earlier so that you don’t miss church.

There are some other important events in the coming week that you don’t want to miss.

March 17 – Saint Patrick’s Day. Ok, this isn’t a REAL church holiday, but we are going to have fun with it. Wear green to church and count to see how many ways we work the prayer of St. Patrick into the service.
