A note from Pastor Travis 4/23/26

The fourth Sunday of Easter, which is this coming Sunday, is Good Shepherd Sunday. Every year on this Sunday we read Psalm 23 and one of the Good Shepherd passages from John 10:

John 10:1–10 “I am the gate for the sheep”;

John 10:11–18 “I am the good shepherd”; or

John 10:22–30 “My sheep hear my voice.”

This year, we are reflecting on John 10:1-10. The decision to designate this Sunday as Good Shepherd Sunday was well thought out.

The First 4 Sundays in Easter follow this pattern:

Easter Day — Resurrection

2nd Sunday — Appearance stories

3rd Sunday — Recognition of the risen Christ

4th Sunday — What the risen Christ is like

Who is the risen Christ? The Good Shepherd who is ever present with us giving us guidance and leading us to abundant life in this life and the next. What a beautiful way to think of the ongoing presence of Christ in our lives! Join us on Sunday as we consider these themes, and invite a friend to join us too!

Blessing and Grace,

Pastor Travis
