A note from our Pastor 10/30/25

Now thank we all our God,

with heart and hands and voices,

Who wondrous things has done,

in Whom this world rejoices;

Who from our mothers’ arms has blessed us on our way

With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.

Hymn 102

Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday. I love gathering with family and friends to enjoy delicious food, great conversation, and a little football. It is a day to express deep gratitude for all of our blessings. Each year, as we get ready to celebrate, we are reminded that Thanksgiving may be the one day, but the spirit of gratitude that this holiday represents can be our outlook for the whole year.

We try to embody this spirit of thanksgiving each Sunday during our prayer time when we reflect on the question, “Where have I seen God this week.” This question gives us an opportunity to stop, reflect on our week, and offer thanks for the ways God has been present, both small and large.

This year, our Steward program will give us the opportunity to reflect on all the ways that God is present in our lives. Our theme is “Responding with Thanksgiving.” Over the next 4 weeks we will reflect on the many gifts in our lives.

As a part of this reflection, each of us will have the opportunity to consider how our giving for 2026 can be an expression of our deep gratitude for God. Then, on November 23, we will be invited to make a pledge.

Pledging is important. It is important for the church because it allows the church to plan for the coming year. It is important for each of us because it gives us the opportunity to make a commitment of our resources for the work of God in the coming year.

I give thanks to you for your generosity over the years and look forward to celebrating with you a successful steward season this year.

Blessings,

Pastor Travis
