A note from Pastor Travis 9/3/26

Join me as we welcome back our Church Administrator, Margo McCole. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the incredible individuals who  stepped in during Margo’s absence: Nancy Cahill, Kathy Ciampa, Donna Safreed, Sue Triggs-Rhuda, Wendy Warren, and Bert Whittier. Your compassion and teamwork exemplify the spirit of our congregation, and we are truly grateful for your contributions. If I inadvertently overlooked anyone’s name, please know that your efforts are equally cherished and valued.

We are thrilled to share that an exciting schedule of events is just around the corner at FUMC Melrose! These gatherings promise to be a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, fostering connections and friendships across all ages.

We begin with our Fall Kickoff on Sunday, September 20. It will be an exciting Sunday. As part of the morning service, Jana Gimenez will update us on the ongoing work of The Food Drive, highlighting how our church has made a difference and sharing future ministry opportunities.

In addition, this will be the first week of Sunday School. 

This is a Sunday that you will not want to miss. It is also a great opportunity to invite friends!

Victorian Fair –September 13 — This is an opportunity for us to share the great things that are going on in our church with the wider community. We need people who are willing to join us at our table. It is easy and fun. You also get to pet lots of dogs and see the happy faces of children as they paint rocks. We also need people who are willing to help us pack up and take things back to church after the fair is over. If you can help, let Pastor Travis know.

Chancel Choir Rehearsal Begins, September 13 at 9:05– Love singing? Want to join with others who love to sing? Join the Chancel Choir! All voices welcome! 

Fall Kick Off – September 20 – Traditionally this Sunday has been called Homecoming Sunday, but we have changed the name to reflect our church’s forward momentum serving God. 

Tuesday Morning Bible Study Begins September 22 at 10:00 – Is there a better way to strengthen your spirit than is Bible Study. This is a great time of fellowship, support, prayer, and study. All are welcome to join us.

Blessing of the Animals — October 4 — 1:00. Share this news with family and friends, so that they can have their animals blessed too!

MAAV Walk – October 25, 4:00-6:00— We are still assembling our team. If you can join us, let the church office know.

There will be many other wonderful opportunities for ministry, study, service, and worship this fall. So, keep an eye out so that you don’t miss any of them!
