A note from Pastor Travis 4/17/26
I came out of church a few days ago and there was a woman staring up at our Resurrection window, making the sign of the cross, and silently praying. When she finished, she introduced herself. She told me that she loves our stained glass window, and every time she walks by it, she stops and prays. It gives her peace. We both looked up at it for a few minutes. It gives me peace too. However, most days, I rush by it, not even bothering to look up. I don’t take the time to appreciate its beauty or its message. Instead, I hurry on my way. It doesn’t matter where I am going, I seem to always be in a rush. That day, I was reminded that I need to slowdown and give thanks to God for the many blessings that are all around.
I am especially thankful for our church. We are a nurturing faith community. We worship, pray, and serve together, and this changes lives.
One of the reasons that we are able to continue to be faithful in our ministry is your generosity. Thank you for sharing your resources with the church. In tough financial times, when costs are rising, you continue to give faithfully. Another reason that we are able to continue to move forward in our ministry is our endowment. Faithful saints who have gone before us made the decision to include the church in their wills. These gifts are managed and invested through the Trustees, and the proceeds from them allow us to cover our yearly budget deficit.
I am grateful for your giving, and I ask that, as you plan how your resources will be used after you pass from this life to life eternal, you consider including the church in those plans. Your gifts will help sustain our church’s ministry and will continue to be a blessing for generations to come.
The next time you are leaving church, I invite you to pause and look up at our Resurrection window, give thanks to God, and to offer a prayer of thanksgiving for all the saints of our church who continue to help us sustain our ministry.
Blessings and grace,
Pastor Travis
