General Conference update / Bishops District Day

What Will Happen at General Conference?

Bishop Johnson will be on our district to discuss the General Conference and the proposals for our denomination. It is not an understatement to say that this is the most important General Conference in our lifetime. Everyone is invited to attend this meeting. The details are below.

Bishop’s District Day on the Commonwealth East District

Saturday, February 24, 2024; 1:00 pm; Hybrid

Holy Trinity UMC, 16 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923

Bishop Peggy A. Johnson and members of the General/Jurisdictional Conference Delegations will visit each district to share information as we begin this important year in the life of the New England Conference and The UMC. Lay and clergy are urged to attend one of these events to learn about proposed plans for the New England Conference and for the denomination. The General/Jurisdictional Conference delegation will offer its report.

Bishop’s District Day begins at 1:00 pm and will conclude with a light reception. You are invited to attend any district’s Bishop’s District Day that is convenient. In case of inclement weather, events will be held virtually. (At 11:00 am, Bishop Johnson will be available to speak to anyone who is interested in exploring lay or clergy ministry.)
