A note from Pastor Travis 4/13/23

One of my favorite traditions from the Greek Orthodox Church takes place on Holy Monday.  The day after Easter Sunday is dedicated to laughter.  People spend the day telling each other jokes.  The origin of this tradition is rooted in the surprise of Jesus rising from the dead (after all, every good joke hinges on a surprise outcome or line)

Easter says that death does not have the last word; the God of life does, and this God came so that we may have abundant life on earth, and eternal life when we die.

In the words of I Timothy 1:10, “it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel”. Isn’t this a wonderful reason to celebrate and laugh!

Though, Holy Monday has passed, the joy of Easter is still with us.  So, I invite you to spend the day celebrating and laughing.  I encourage you to tell your family and friends a joke or two.  Celebrate the blessing of Easter!

I’ll start you off:

Where is tennis mentioned in the Bible?

Genesis 40.  It says that Joseph served in the Pharos court
