A note from Pastor Travis 12/8/22

Advent is an exciting time in the life of the church. Seeing the sanctuary decorated with greenery and singing the wonderful Advent and Christmas hymns really helps us to get into the mood to welcome the Christ-Child into the world.

As we approach Christmas, here are some important things you should know:

Christmas Eve Choir – If you would like to join the choir for Christmas Eve, there will be a rehearsal following this Sunday’s worship service. Everyone is invited to join in!

Christmas Eve – Worship will be filled with music. There will be a pre-service concert at 5:30pm, followed by our worship Serve at 6:00pm, which will be a service of Lessons and Carols. (Please make note of these times. They were listed incorrectly on last week’s Enews).

Christmas Day – Christmas Day is a Sunday. We will hold worship at 10:00am. We invite our children to bring a toy and we will bless them.

New Year’s Day – New Year’s Day is also on a Sunday. We will hold worship at 10:00am.

Christmas Cookies – When you are making Christmas cookies with your family, we ask that you make an extra batch for The Food Drive. In the church kitchen there are brown ‘sleeves’ that you can put them in. We ask that you mark on the outside of the sleeves what type of cookie it is and put them in the Food Drive freezer.

Food Delivery – The Food Drive has 3 homebound people to which they deliver food on Sunday afternoons. We are looking for volunteers that can help with these deliveries. If you can help, there is a sign-up on the bulletin board at church. After you sign up, Jana will contact you with the details.

Chicken Meals and Soup Meals – The Food Drive is finding that its patrons really are enjoying both the Chicken Meals and Soup. If you are planning to make a meal for The Food Drive, we ask that you consider making either (or both) of these types of meals.

Happy Advent,

Pastor Travis
