A note from Pastor Travis 3/24/22

Dear FUMC Family and Friends,

On Sunday, March 6, we held a meeting after worship to discuss the United Methodist Church’s decision to postpone the General Conference until 2024. At the meeting, information was shared about the implications of the postponement and opinions were expressed about how our church should respond. The Leadership Team continued to hold conversation on the topic at its meeting on Tuesday, March 8. As a result, a draft of a letter to the Bishop was written but not sent.

This coming Sunday, March 27, following worship, we invite you to join us for continuing conversation on General Conference, what has been happening in the United Methodist Church following the announcement of the postponement, and ways we can respond as a congregation. An important part of this meeting will be the opportunity to review the letter which has been drafted, offer changes and edits, and express your thoughts and feelings.

We are a congregation committed to justice and full inclusion, not only in our congregation, but in the entire United Methodist Church. Your voice is important as we seek to live into this commitment and embody the Kingdom of God. Please join us for this important conversation.

Blessings and Grace,

Pastor Travis
