A Note from Pastor Travis 12/17/20

Dear FUMC Family and Friends,
At our Tuesday morning Bible Study (it used to be Thursday mornings, but we have had to change the date during Covid) we have been talking about our family Christmas traditions. It has been fun to hear all the different ways that people celebrate. One of the traditions of my family when I was growing up was that each Christmas, we would gather in my grandparents living room, and my grandfather would read us the Christmas story from Luck out of his King James Version (LJV) of the Bible. My grandfather was a dramatic reader, and the language of the KJV is beautiful. What are some of the traditions in your family?

I know that for many of us the Advent and Christmas Eve worship services are an important part of our family tradition. Even though we are not meeting in-person this year, there are still opportunities to participate in these services. This Sunday morning, at 9:00 on MMTV and 10:00 on YouTube and Facebook, the Children’s Pageant will be a part of our worship service. The children, their families, Jayleigh, Andrew, Lauren, and Cory have worked hard on this service, and I know that you will enjoy it.

On Christmas Eve, our Christmas Eve Lessons and Carols will be at 6:00 pm on MMTV, Facebook, and YouTube. It is a wonderful service with a lot of participation from members of our congregation. We will celebrate Holy Communion as part of the service, so prepare your bread and juice beforehand.
Have a very Merry Christmas!
Pastor Travis
