A note from Pastor Travis

Dear friends,

The Christmas season is upon us! What a wonderful time of year. I love the lights, trees, and music. I enjoy the excitement and anticipation of our children as Christmas gets closer and closer. Perhaps, the best part of all is connecting with family and friends. We do not live very close to any of our relatives, so we don’t get to see them on Christmas. However, over the years, we have formed wonderful relationship with friends who have become family to us. Yet, we get busy and don’t see them as often as we would like. Christmas gives us an opportunity to get together and enjoy each other’s company, as we celebrate the wonder of the birth of the Christ-child.

Something similar happens at church too. This is a season in which we have more guests at church. Many people feel a tug in their hearts to come to church during this time of year. Others, who have been meaning to find a church home, take advantage of this season to visit churches. They are looking to see if one of them could be a place they could call home.

As they come, we have the opportunity to help them feel welcome and comfortable. I encourage you to look around for who is new and go and speak to them. Invite them to join us for coffee and fellowship after the service. Tell them about our wonderful ministry. Take advantage of the season to invite family, friends, and neighbors to come to church. Sometimes this is hard. We don’t want to feel pushy. But, during December there are many special services, and that makes it easier to invite people. The truth is that there are many people who would love to be invited to our church, and this is the perfect time of the year to do it. The worship schedule outlines some of the exciting ways to connect to church and to invite others to join us.

I look forward to worshiping with you during Advent and Christmas, and I look forward to welcoming our guest. Together we can help others find a church home, and they can feel the love and support that means so much to us.

Blessings,
Pastor Travis
