A note from Pastor Travis 10/8/26

This Sunday is Laity Sunday. Laity Sunday is one of the greatest gifts of our Methodist tradition. It is also one of the most important witnesses that we make as a church. In our tradition, we emphasize the role that each person plays in our church. Our dedicated members are the heart of our ministry, and our church depends on your gifts, talent, time, prayers, and service. Your faithfulness and your ministry make our church possible.

On Laity Sunday we celebrate your ministry. We remember that through your baptism you have been empowered by God’s Spirit to serve. We honor the ministry you do within the walls of the church, in our local towns, and throughout the world. We recognize that some of the most important ministries you do are not directly related to the church. They take place at work, the grocery story, your life in “the public square.”

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate YOU, offering thanks to God for your ministry in the church and in the world.

Blessings and Thank you!

Pastor Travis

Below are some upcoming opportunities to invite you to connect to others and to participate in the life of our church:

MAAV Walk – October 25, 2:00-4:00

We are still assembling our team — We invite you to join us. Talk with Pastor Travis, or contact the office for more information.

Here is what to expect on walk day:

  • 2:00 PM | Arrival & Activity Stations: Before you take your first steps, our volunteers and our Student Action Board will host a range of hands-on activities, accessible to all ages, that invite you to explore your personal strengths, what you bring to your relationships, and what you think matters most. We’ll invite you to define your why — Who do you walk for? Why do you show up? Why does walking matter to you?
  • A Remembrance Space: We’ll hold space for remembrance with a dedicated, quiet area to honor survivors, those we’ve lost to domestic violence, and the people for whom we walk.
  • 3:00 PM | Honor Line & Walk Start: Special guests will frame the starting area, holding the names of individuals lost to domestic violence in Massachusetts this year. Student Action Board members will begin the walk route, passing through the honor line and grounding our collective first steps in shared purpose, remembrance, and strength.
