A note from Pastor Travis 9/24/26
“The heavens are telling the glory of God, and the firmament proclaims God’s
handiwork.” Psalm 19:1
Every year, scientists discover new species of animals and plants. They discovered over 800 new species last year alone. We know this, so when the news happens to mention a new deep-sea fish or jungle plant that has been discovered, it may capture our attention for a brief moment, but our thoughts quickly move on. However, recently, the discovery of two new animals has captured the attention of my family. Their discovery has been a part of our dinner discussions and we have shared pictures of them back and forth on family group text. I bet you know which new species I am talking about.
The Likweli monkey, with its orange mouth and the tiny Tilcayo tiger cat have reminded us just how wonderful and mysterious the world is. They have taught us how much more there is to discover about our world, and they have reminded us how important it is to care for creation. They have given us an opportunity to pause, reflect, and give thanks for creation.
We have a need deep within us to stop and give thanks to God for the blessing that is life and for the blessing of life. Worship is an oasis that allows us to pause in a busy world and connect to God, others, and ourselves. I invite you to join us this Sunday to give thanks to God for the gift of life and the wonders yet to be discovered in our world.

MAAV Walk – October 25, 2:00-4:00

Here is what to expect on walk day:
- 2:00 PM | Arrival & Activity Stations: Before you take your first steps, our volunteers and our Student Action Board will host a range of hands-on activities, accessible to all ages, that invite you to explore your personal strengths, what you bring to your relationships, and what you think matters most. We’ll invite you to define your why — Who do you walk for? Why do you show up? Why does walking matter to you?
- A Remembrance Space: We’ll hold space for remembrance with a dedicated, quiet area to honor survivors, those we’ve lost to domestic violence, and the people for whom we walk.
- 3:00 PM | Honor Line & Walk Start: Special guests will frame the starting area, holding the names of individuals lost to domestic violence in Massachusetts this year. Student Action Board members will begin the walk route, passing through the honor line and grounding our collective first steps in shared purpose, remembrance, and strength.
