A note from our Pastor 11/23/23

I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving. This Sunday is The Reign of Christ Sunday. Often this church celebration falls on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, and I ignore it, choosing to celebrate Thanksgiving instead. I imagine most of the pastors who have served our church have done the same.

The Reign of Christ Sunday (formerly known as Christ the King Sunday) is the last Sunday of the Christian year. The following Sunday is the first Sunday in Advent, beginning of the new Church year.

Since The Reign of Christ Sunday falls after Thanksgiving this year, we have a unique opportunity. This Sunday we are going to hold a special celebration during worship. On this the last Sunday of the church year, we are going to take a look at the entire Christian year, reflecting on each of the church seasons (I am still ignoring Christ the Reign Sunday).

Every year, we move through the church seasons, but we rarely take the time to reflect on what makes each of them special. However, by looking at them all at once, we discover that they take us through the entire life of Jesus and the founding of the church. At the same time, they remind us of the faith journey of the Christian church.

Join us for this special and unique celebration.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Pastor Travis

Stewardship

Last Sunday was Stewardship Sunday. We had a strong response and are off to a great start, but we still have a way to go. If you have not yet turned in your pledge, it isn’t too late. You can send it to the church office. If you need a pledge card, please let the office know. Another option is to pledge electronically by follow this link to make your pledge online https://forms.gle/TxQcnF3CWMH4qgUHA
