A note from Pastor Travis 12/22/22
The past Monday during our Advent Conspiracy Study, the conversation turned to the desire to keep the “spirit of Christmas” in our hears year around. This reminded me of a practice my mom taught me, that I have tried to keep over the years.
When you put away your Christmas decorations, choose one to leave out. Place it somewhere in your house, or office, and each time you see it throughout the year, let it be a reminder to you of the blessings of Christmas. Then, offer up a prayer of thanksgiv9ing to God.
I have kept this practice for about 15 years. There are a lot of times my eye passes over the ornament and I don’t really see it. There are other times I just ignore it. However, there are also times when seeing it, it takes me by surprise and reminds me of the gift of God’s love given to us at Christmas. In those moments, I am blessed by Christmas all over again.
This year, I encourage you to give it a try and let the blessings of Christmas be with you throughout the year. We invite you to join us for our Christmas Season Services:
Christmas Eve – Worship will be filled with music. There will be a pre-service concert at 5:30pm, followed by our worship Serve at 6:00pm, which will be a service of Lessons and Carols.
Christmas Day – Christmas Day is a Sunday. We will hold worship at 10:00am. We invite our children to bring a toy and we will bless them.
New Year’s Day – New Year’s Day is also on a Sunday. We will hold worship at 10:00am. Join us as we ring in the New Year!
Blessings,
Pastor Travis
