A note from Pastor Travis 12/15/22
Two of the Gospels record the birth of Jesus: Luke and Matthew. Luke is the one with which we are most familiar. It is the more poetic of the two stories, and it is the one most often read at Christmas.
It is the version that makes an appearance in the Charlie Brown Christmas special, when Linus explains to Charlie Brown (and everyone else) the true meaning of Christmas.
Yet, Matthew’s telling of the birth of Christ is also a powerful story, and this Sunday, we will have the opportunity to spend some time in reflection on what Matthew wants us to know about Jesus’ birth.
I invite you to join us as we reflect on how Jesus’ incarnation shapes our lives.
I also invite you to join us for our other Christmas Season services:
Christmas Eve – Worship will be filled with music. There will be a pre-service concert at 5:30pm, followed by our worship Serve at 6:00pm, which will be a service of Lessons and Carols. (Please make note of these times. They were listed incorrectly on last week’s Enews).
Christmas Day – Christmas Day is a Sunday. We will hold worship at 10:00am. We invite our children to bring a toy and we will bless them.
New Year’s Day – New Year’s Day is also on a Sunday. We will hold worship at 10:00am. Join us as we ring in the New Year!
Happy Advent,
Pastor Travis
