A note from Pastor Travis 7/7/22

Dear FUMC Family and Friends,

On Sunday, July 24, our congregation will be hosting the Melrose Union Service. The scripture passage that will direct our worship and guide our reflection is the story of Jesus teaching the disciples how to pray. The result of this teaching was the Lord’s Prayer.

In preparation for this service, I invite you to incorporate the Lord’s Prayer into your daily prayer life for the month of July. Pray it slowly and intentionally, meditating on each phrase, and notice each word. Perhaps, different words or phrases will stand out to you on different days. As you pray it, open yourself to the movement of God in and through it, allowing the prayer to in-form you. Not only will this practice shape your spiritual life, but it will also prepare your spirit to encounter the Lord’s Prayer in new ways as we reflect on it in worship.
