Staceys April Update
Dear friends,
Save the Date! On Saturday, May 5, 5-8 pm we will gather for pizza and conversation about ways we can help our church invite and welcome people and serve our community better. We’ll think about the things we value as a church community and how our practices and reflect those values.
Rev. Betsy Waters will be here to guide our conversation. Betsy is a UCC pastor whose expertise is in helping congregations move forward and become communities of transformation. And, she likes to have fun!
We’ll have pizza, there will be child care. so mark the date and plan to be a part of the conversation. Stacey
By the Waters of Babylon
On Palm Sunday, the choir performed “By the Waters of Babylon”, the piece which we commissioned for FUMC. The composer, Marc Hoffeditz, was with us for the premier. It is a beautiful piece, so well suited for our choir and for Palm/Passion Sunday. It will be repeated on April 8 at 11 am at King’s Chapel in Boston, with Andrew conducting and members of our choir singing with the Chapel singers.
Parsonage update
Work on the new parsonage is nearing completion – the floors are being refinished and soon the painting will be complete. Work on the bathrooms and kitchen has been paused while the floor work is underway, and will resume as soon as the floors are ready. The roof has been replaced, and it looks like moving in will happen mid-May.
The current parsonage will go on the market on April 12. There will be at least one open house the weekend of the 14th, and offers will be due on April 17. Spread theword! We’re recruiting helpers! On Saturday, April 7, we will move boxes and some furniture from the old parsonage to the new and also do some cleaning to get ready for the open house. We will borrow a truck from Brad Hutchinson Real Estate for the moving. Let’s get the place ready to show at its best advantage. See Stacey or Krissi MacPherson if you can help.
