Christian Education News: Upcoming Monday Meditations lecture

Our “Monday Meditations” lecture series for 2013-2014 continues on Monday, October 21. This year-long series is focused on Community and Prayer. As a congregation, we recognize that a healthy church needs both a deep sense of community and a strong prayer life in order to support our members and the surrounding community both spiritually and physically. Through this lecture series and our “Got Prayer?” workshops, we will explore what it means to be a community of faith in today’s world.

On October 21 at 7:30pm, Dr. Kirk Wegter-McNelly, Research Associate at the Institute for the Bio-Cultural Study of Religion, will be speaking. His lecture is titled “Beyond Conflict: How to Think about the Relationship between Religion and Science.” The evening will consist of a one hour lecture followed by 30 minutes of Q&A.

Further lectures in the “Monday Meditations” series will be held from 7:30-9:00pm on Nov 18, Feb 24, March 24, and April 28. Mark your calendars!
