A note from Pastor Travis 10/9/25
This Sunday is exciting. The new piano is arriving and will fill our church with beautiful music! As a part of our worship service, we will consecrate the piano and bless the choir as they have started another season of faithfully leading us in worship.
As you may recall, we shared last week that it is time for us to replace the piano that we use in worship. The piano that is in the library was built in the early 1900s. It has served us well but needs to be replaced. We are moving the upright piano that is currently in the sanctuary to the library, and have purchased a refurbished Steinway baby grand for the sanctuary.
Join us this Sunday to hear this beautiful instrument. It will fill our spirits and our worship. This will be the perfect Sunday to invite a friend or two.
See you Sunday!
Pastor Travis
Office Volunteers
Our church administrator, Margo, will be having surgery on November 17 and will be out of the office recovering for about 6 weeks. We are looking for volunteers to help in the office during her absence. If you are willing to help out, please contact Nancy at nhcahill1002@gmail.com.
COMING UP in November
As we approach the gratifying month of November, First United Methodist Church in Melrose is thrilled to embrace the spirit of community and connection through several special Sundays that invite everyone to join in the celebration. We invite you to explore the significance of each of these Sundays and discover how you can contribute to our church’s mission of inclusivity and support.
As we gather for these meaningful occasions, let us remember that the holiday season is a wonderful time to foster community and fellowship, reinforcing First United Methodist Church as a safe and welcoming space for all. We can’t wait to see you there!
All Saints Sunday is November 2, and this year we will be honoring the saints of our lives in several ways.
As in the past, we invite you to submit the names of loved ones who have died in the past year. We will name them in worship and light a candle for them.
In addition, we are inviting you to bring a photo of someone in your life who you love but has died. The photo can be of anyone who is special to you, and isn’t limited to those who have died in the past year.
During the service, we will place these photos in the chancel and pray a prayer of thanksgiving for the love that they gave us.
