A note from Pastor Travis 6/26/25

I am taking 4 weeks’ sabbatical in July. Originally, I had considered taking a class during my time away, however, I realized what I need the most is rest and renewal. So, I plan to use the time for prayer, reflection, and spending time with family and friends.

Following my 4 weeks of renewal leave, I will be attending a conference the first week of August and then I will be away on two weeks’ vacation. However, don’t worry, I am leaving you in capable hands for worship and emergency pastoral care needs.

A portion of my time away coincides with the Union Services, and the rest of our worship schedule will be led by gifted members of our congregation.

Emergency pastoral care will be provided by the Rev. Glenn Mortimer, the United Methodist Pastor for the United Methodist church in Wakefield. He is a reconciling pastor and a compassionate person. When it gets closer to my leave, I will publish his phone number and the office will have it, so you can reach him in emergencies.

Here is the worship schedule for July and August:

This year there are only 3 weeks of Union Services:

July 6 – First United Methodist Church

July 13 – First Baptist Church

July 20 — Highland UCC

Following July 20, we will be back worshiping at our church.

July 27 – Mission Trip Sunday. Service will be led by the Stewarts as they share their experience on the mission Trip.

August 3 – Cory Allen Preaching

August 10 – Bert Whittier Preaching

August 17 – Elizabeth Hook Preaching

August 24 – Jim Bennet Preaching

Note: on August 24 Travis is serving as guest preacher at a United Methodist Campground.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Travis
