A note from Pastor Travis 11-15-24
Can you believe that 2024 is almost over? Soon we will be saying goodbye to this year and welcoming 2025. Yet, before we do that, there are a lot of great things in store at our church. We will be ending the year with a bang!
So what is happening in the next two months? Below, I am sharing some highlights.
November 17 – Baptism
November 24 – Stewardship Sunday, Thanksgiving Sunday, and our annual Ingathering.
We will be receiving our pledges for 2025. This is an important event, for it helps us plan our budget for 2025. If you have not received a pledge card or have any questions, please contact me at tbonnettekim@gmail.com
Over the new couple weeks, we will be collecting non-perishable items for the food pantry during our 10:00 worship service. Then at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 24th, the Interfaith Thanksgiving Service will be at Temple Beth Shalom.
December 1 – The first Sunday in Advent
December 7 – Home for the Holidays Display
Home For the Holidays in Melrose is Friday, December 6- Sunday, December 8. We
are going to be a trolly stop for the event. This is a wonderful way to get people into our church. Our plan is to have the library decorated with nativity creches and a scavenger hunt for children.
We need two things from you. First, we need native creches. Please bring one or two from home that we can use to decorate. We will only need them for that weekend. Second, we need volunteers to be at the church during the event. If you can help with both/either of these, please email the church office, fumc@fumcmelrose.com
December 8 – Hanging of the Greens. Join us for the 10:00 service as we bless the decorations of the church for Advent and Christmas. If you worship with us online, this may be a Sunday where you want to join us in-person.
Mark your calendar to join us for these exciting events and invite a friend to join us too!
In Christ,
Pastor Travis
