All Saints Sunday / First Sunday of Stewardship Drive We will be lighting a candle for the special people in our lives who have died this past year.
Stewardship-4 Sundays in November 2024
Over the next 4 weeks we will reflect on our blessings. As a part of this reflection, each of us will have the opportunity to consider how our giving for 2025 can be an expression of our deep gratitude for God. Then, on November 24, we will be invited to make a pledge.
Pledging is important. It is important for the church because it allows the church to plan for the coming year. It is important for each of us because it gives us the opportunity to make a commitment of our resources for the work of God in the coming year.
We give thanks to you for your generosity over the years and look forward to celebrating with you a successful steward season this year.
Oh, may this bounteous God through all our life be near us,
With ever joyful hearts and blessed peace to cheer us;
And keep us in His grace, and guide us when perplexed;
And guard us through all ills in this world, till the next!

December 2024
Sunday, December 1st
First Sunday of Advent / Begin Poinsettia Orders
Friday December 6th to Sunday December 8th
Home For the Holidays in Melrose is Friday, December 6- Sunday, December 8. We are going to be a trolly stop for the event. This is a wonderful way to get people into our church.
Our plan is to have the library decorated with nativity creches and to have a scavenger hunt for the children.
We need two things from you:
First, we need native creches. Please bring one or two from home that we can use to decorate. We will only need them for that weekend.
Second, we need volunteers to be at the church during the event. If you can help with both/either of these, please email the church office, fumc@fumcmelrose.com. This is a fun event for all!
Sunday, December 8th
Hanging of the Greens – AOK Youth will be helping with the Hanging of the Greens
Tuesday, December 12th
Charge Conference
Our Annual Church Conference (Charge Conference) will be held on Tuesday, December 12th, starting at 7:30pm EST. We ask that all *reports be turned into the church office by November 18. This will provide us time to compile our booklet and submit everything ahead of time to the Presiding Elder who will be leading our Charge Conference.
*If you have questions or need help uploading your report, please contact the office. Please confirm, also, to the office once your report has been completed and uploaded. Thank you.
We will be conducting the Charge Conference meeting via Zoom (Zoom details to follow closer to the date), to make it easier for people to participate. The Charge Conference is an open meeting and all church members are invited to join us and have both voice and vote.
Mark your calendars and join us for this important event!
