A note from Pastor Travis 1/26/24
Last Sunday was wonderful. We had a great service followed by a fabulous meal celebrating Haitian Independence Day, enjoying fellowship, and strengthening our relationship with our partners in ministry, Haiti Global Youth Partnership. Most importantly, we raised money for our work in L’Asile, Haiti. As of the writing of this article on Wednesday, we have raised about $600 to support the schools in L’Asile.
If you weren’t able to join us and would like to donate, it isn’t too late. You can donate using the following link (be sure to put “Haiti” in the memo column):
It is important to look back celebrating what we have accomplished, but it is even more vital that we look ahead to the opportunities that await us in February. Lent starts in February, and we enter into this important season in two special ways:
Ash Wednesday Soup and Worship – February 14.
We invite everyone to join us on Ash Wednesday. We will begin with a simple meal of soup and bread at 6:00pm followed by worship at 7:00pm.
Lenten Study –SOUP AND SPIRIT — Wednesday nights February 21 – March 20, 6:30pm – 8:00pm. We will gather at 6:30pm for soup followed by a time of study and reflection.
There have been several requests by people who would love to attend but cannot be in there in person, to make it hybrid. The Great Decisions program have been successful in holding hybrid meetings, and we will give it a try as well.
If you can come in person, we encourage you to do so, and enjoy the soup and fellowship before the study. However, if you cannot be with us in person, please log on to the link (which I will send to your registered email prior to each session) at 7:00 for the study.
We will be using the book Mosaic and will examine how God uses the broken pieces of our lives to reframe our purpose, turning our discarded hopes and dreams into something beautiful and useful – a mosaic in which God uses all of the pieces. Shane Stanford, the author, says, “This journey will take us along the same path Jesus walked in the days before and days along his own journey to Jerusalem. We will see the similarities to our own stories and the lesson we should pick up, like pebbles along the path.”
I invite everyone to join us for the study. We ask that you please register so we can reserve a copy of the book for you ($14).

We will need volunteers to make soup. There will be an option to select in the registration form if you can make soup for one of the nights.
Blessings,
Pastor Travis
