A note from Pastor Travis 8/17/23

I am getting excited about the fall, and all of the wonderful things that we will be doing at the church. Below are a few updates for you: 

Fall Kickoff and ‘Pasta Lunch for a Cause‘. What is ‘Fall Kickoff’? It is Homecoming Sunday with a twist.

On Sunday, September 17, we will kick off our fall program year, AND…we will engage in mission and fellowship. 

Following worship, we are going to have a Pasta Lunch! We are going to make A LOT of pasta. We are going to make more pasta than we can possibly eat! Then, we are going to pack up the extra pasta and freeze it for The Food Drive Freezer Ministry.

We will need help setting up, cooking, cleaning up, and packing the food. If you can help, please email me at tbonnettekim@gmail.com. 

Our FUMC Yard Sale to support Haiti Global Youth Partnership will be on Saturday, September 30. We have started collecting items. If you have things to donate, please put them in the church parlor. We will also need people to help us price items, to set up on September 30, and those who can, to help us pack up when we are done. Donations for Hawaii through UMCOR. This Sunday, August 20, we are receiving a special offering for UMCOR for disaster relief for Hawaii. You can make a donation by check or by going to the church website, E-Giving – First United Methodist Church (fumcmelrose.com). You can also scan our QR Code below. If you would like to make a donation, please be sure to write UMCOR in the memo area so that your donations are directed to the correct place.
