A note from Pastor Travis 5/18/23

Our livestream/video ministry is a powerful and important part of our church that touches many lives. It reaches those in our church that are homebound, helping them to stay connected to their faith community and giving them the opportunity to worship with their church family each week.

They get to participate in our joy and concerns, praying for our community and its needs. They hear the word of God proclaimed through preaching and music, and they learn what is happing in the life of our church. Members of our church who temporally cannot attend worship due to illness or injury receive these same blessings.

On a number of occasions, I have had people tell me how thankful they are that they were able to continue to worship with us even though they could not be physically present in church.

Our livestream/video ministry is a way that we can share our worship with others. When something special happens in worship or when you are deeply moved by something in worship, you can share the link with those who do not normally worship with us. For example, when we have a baptism, people will share the link so that those who live in different parts of the country can participate. We also have times when we want to watch part of the service over again.

This week I had someone tell me that she was going to watch the Offertory that two of our youth sang again. What a gift the ability to do this is! Our church grows through our livestream/video ministry. People will often participate in our worship online before they ever come physically, or they may choose to worship with us solely online.

Next month, we are baptizing a baby of a family who are part of our church community – solely online.

This ministry is also a blessing for us when we travel. Last month when I was visiting my family in Louisiana and Mississippi, I was able to get up on Sunday morning and participate in our worship service. I will be out again this Sunday (Bert is preaching), but will still be worshiping with our faith community.

When you are away on vacation this summer, or are traveling to see family, or for business, I encourage you to participate in worship online. Even if you cannot join us as it is being livestreamed, you can worship through the video later in the day or week. It is truly a blessing to stay connected to our church when you cannot be there physically.

We are blessed to have Cory and Bert, who are both gifted and dedicated to our church and this ministry. I thank them both for all the time they give and the skills they use. The quality of our livestream and videos is incredible. Our online worship looks professional and you can see the care that goes into it.

We are truly blessed by this ministry.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Travis
