Earthquake Damage in L’Asil, Haiti: Our churches response
Donations from the Melrose community are continuing to arrive in response to our appeal for aid to L’Asile following last month’s earthquake. Many who have called the church office in the past weeks have said they wanted to do something to help and loved the idea that we are raising money that will go directly to Haiti. They felt safe sending money to our church because they trust us as part of the community.
Please continue to spread the word about our mission work as you are able!
We will be disbursing all money that we have raised to date to our partners, Haiti Global Youth Partnership, to be used for direct emergency aid, including food, water, and medical supplies. All money we raise in the immediate future will be for the same purpose. To date, we have raised $2690 for relief aid for L’Asile.
If you would like to donate at this time to help Haiti, here is how you can help:
You can follow the link below (scroll down to find the PayPal link and click on the “donate” button, or use the QR code) to donate money through our church for the Haiti Global Youth Partnership. Be sure to put “Haiti” in the memo line. Check or cash donations are also always welcome
Although conditions in L’Asile remain very difficult after last month’s earthquake, with residents still struggling to obtain basic supplies, there has been some hopeful progress. Pictured above is a medical clinic that has recently been able to provide much-needed care to those who had gone without for a long time. Our mission funds have gone directly to support projects such as this, and we are grateful for your continuing generosity.
