A Note from our Pastor
In the church, during January and February we observe the season of epiphany. Epiphany comes from a Greek word that means “manifestation” or “sudden appearance.” This season lasts from Jan. 6 until the beginning of Lent (very early this year – Feb. 10). In this season, the church focuses on making God’s love known to people.
It’s a good season for us at FUMC to think about making God’s love known in our own community. How can we make God’s love known in ways that will meet the needs of people in our community? What will attract people to find that love in our midst, here on Main Street? How can we offer people a deeper spiritual experience in ways that make sense to them?
As United Methodists, we know that “the mission of the church is to make
disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” During Epiphany, we remember that the reason for our coming together is to reach out to others with the good news that has set us free.
In Christ, Stacey
