A message from the Pastor: December 2014
Dear friends,
What do you really want for Christmas?
Children write letters to Santa and adults also make wish lists this time each year. Gifts are received, and lists are checked off. While the gifts may be thoughtful, the sizes and colors just right, though they may represent friendship and love, still… After the giving and the receiving is over, the wrapping paper put out for recycling, we may still be left with a feeling of “Is this really what it was all about?”
To those searching for the answer to that question, our faith says a resounding “No!” The surface level “happy” that many experience during the holidays is only a small facet of the joy that comes from knowing Christ. There is so much more to life when we are living in relationship with God through Christ.
This advent, we are focusing on the fuller meaning of hope, peace, love and joy in Christ. Join us and invite someone you know, who is searching for the deeper meaning of Christmas, to join you in worship as we search for “A Life-giving Christmas.”
