Children’s Sunday School

At First UMC, we offer Sunday morning education and care for children, from nursery through grade 12. Our Sunday school is a friendly place to learn about God’s promises to all God’s children!

Church School for grades pre-k – 8 meets during the 10:00 a.m. service, when nursery care is also provided.  Our young people attend the 10:00 service with the congregation.  After a Children’s Sermon by our Director of Christian Education, the children are dismissed with their teachers to Sunday school.  Classes are grouped by grade level, with a common curriculum that mirrors the lectionary readings that adults experience during the worship service.

Our Senior High young people gather as a separate group directly after church at 11:15 to study together, discuss current events as they relate to Christian teachings and work on group projects.

In addition, our Sunday school classes engage in regular mission and service that coordinates with larger church mission projects, including our mission challenge for the year and other projects through UMCOR and other agencies.

Our Sunday School teachers and helpers are a dedicated group interested in fostering our children’s spiritual growth.  We hope you will join us for Sunday school and experience this wonderful community of learning.
