Mission at FUMC
Join us in making a difference in Melrose and around the world!
FUMC Melrose supports our local food pantry. Donations are taken continually throughout the month with one Sunday of the month designated as “Food Pantry Sunday”, when we make a special effort to bring the gift of food to those in our community.
Our Feeding Ministry works with the Bread of Life in Malden, MA cooking, serving, and cleaning up after a meal for the guests at the Bread of Life. Learn more about the Bread of Life ministry, and our part in it HERE
One of the events we look forward to as a community (almost) every year is hosting a group of young volunteers the UM Army. UM Army is organized regionally, the young people helping in our communities come from various New England communities for a week of service in the summer. These young people and their adult helpers provide much needed community service for people in need. Projects that are completed range from simple home repairs to gardening, yard work and painting. Learn more about the UM Army HERE .
In 2016 – 2017, we have committed to raise $10,000 for “Bikes not Bombs”. We kicked off this effort September 25th with a visit from representatives for BnB which included bike powered smoothies. Stay tuned to the 2016 Bikes Not Bombs webpage as well as our calendar and Facebook page for more information on how you can get involved!
