A September note from Pastor Stacey

Dear friends,

September is a me of new beginnings for many – the crisp, fresh fall air, the starting of the school year and the return to busy schedules.

Summer is nearly over as I write this, and we have enjoyed a change of pace at FUMC. Worship has been more informal, with hymn requests, storytime for the kids, and the opportunity for anyone who likes to be a “walk on” participant in the service. We’ve had a summer mission project of collecting back packs for school children in Haiti . We’ve made Kindness Rocks to share with the community and enjoyed a campfire evening with s’mores. The parsonage group has been working towards closing on our new parsonage at 260 Porter St.

We are looking forward to our new beginnings. Sunday School will begin soon on September 10, and Homecoming worship and brunch is September 17. We have a new mission undertaking to get started, and new small groups will be forming (watch the e-news and bulletin). We look forward to reconnecting with old friends and welcoming new faces into our community as we recommit ourselves to a year of ministry and mission together!

Blessings,

Stacey
