Food Pantry Coordinator Needed!

Fred  and  Shirley  Hayes  have  served  as  the Food Pantry Coordinators for  FUMC  Melrose   for  over  13  years,  but  they  decided  it  is  time  to  resign.  So  the  church  needs  a  new  volunteer  to  take  up  the  role.  Luckily  Fred  has  offered  to  help  orient  the  new  volunteer.

The  primary  task  is  transferring  the  donated food from  the  church  to  the  First  Baptist   Church  at  the  corner.  So  it  does  involve  some  physical  labor.  But  it  is  a  great  project  that   provides   direct   help   to   those   in   need.   Fred   notes   that   when   he   and   Shirley   took   on   the   role  the  Hope Food Pantry fed  over  100  families.  Now  it  serves  over  300  families.

I  am  optimistic  that  others  in  our  church,  perhaps  a  family,  will  volunteer  to  continue  this   service.  To  volunteer,  please  call  the  church  office (781-662-7060)  or  email  the  Leadership  Team  at fumc-leadership-team@googlegroups.com.
