Christian Summer Camp!

Dear friends,

Christian camping can be a life changing experience for a young person. Camps provide a healthy, safe environment where children can experience the love of God in a true community of their peers. Camp can be a place to learn and grow, to try new experiences in a supportive environment.

Through our New England Conference camps, you can choose a camping week that focuses on water sports, the arts, science, horseback riding, music, drama, nature, cooking, survival skills, basketball and many more. There are camps for special needs students and camps for the whole family, for children as young as age seven through high school.

At camp, your child will meet people from a broad range of cultures and backgrounds; the staff makes sure every child has a way to fit and be accepted. He or she will gain independence and make decisions with a safety net – practice for life in the real world. And camp can be a great way for a child to take a break from any stresses at home and put their home life in perspective as they meet other children and learn about other families.

You can learn all about camping at the following websites: www.campaldersgate.com (our camp in Rhode Island); www.wanakee.org (our camp in New Hampshire); www.mechuwana.org (in Maine).

First United Methodist Church offers scholarships to help young people attend summer camp. If you are interested in a scholarship, see Stacey for details.
